Halloween in Macau has turned out to be pretty great! Luckily for us there was already an established trick-or-treating group at the apartment complex we live in when we moved here. Everybody interested gets put on a list and we all visit each others' houses.
I was proud of our door decoration, as were the girls (and our friend Signe):
A few days before Halloween we went to a Halloween lunch and party at the hotel down the beach from us. We went last year too and it's pretty fun! We had some lunch and then did a bunch of Halloween crafts.
We sure love these neighbor friends of ours
The girls think every restaurant should have cotton candy!
Our lovely walk home
We also painted some little ones:
On the last Friday of each month the girls get a "dress down day" at school when they can wear anything they want. Conveniently, that day was on Halloween this year. :) I bet they would have been able to wear costumes that day either way. Their school is awesome.
There was an assembly that morning where everyone got to show off their costumes and sing Halloween songs.
Here's Haven's class (Haven's in the back in front of Ms. Lok, the green crayon):
Here's Jozie's teacher, Ms. Fester (dressed as a school girl):
For Halloween dinner we had our traditional mummy hot dogs and jello worms. Each year I swear I won't do worms again and then the girls convince me they love them so much that I'm happy to try it again. :)
That night we decorated the stairway up to our apartment (we're just one floor up from the bottom (though our floor is called level 3). It was pretty spooky - Chad took out the light bulbs and lit candles. He and the girls made a recording of spooky sounds to play that was a hoot.
There are lights on the stairs! Danger!
It was laborious and hot to get a huge group of kids in and out of multiple small elevators and hallways!!
The kids' favorite was our neighbor the pirate
What a fantastic group!
You may notice this is being posted on Christmas Eve. :)

The girls will remember those Haloween days all their lives.
