YW Camp

Me and my preggo belly went up to Young Women's camp - just for one night. It was gonna be two but got cut short because Chad had to leave the next morning for China! I'm really glad I got to hang out with the YW up in the mountains. On the day I was there, every single YW on our roll was up there too. I thought that was pretty amazing.

Here's a picture of all of us (with some extra people in the background - we're not that huge!):

Here's my and my belly and cute girls:

One of my Beehives, Krissy

Recently moved-on Beehive, Marissa

Here's a bubble blowing contest (which sadly I horribly lost at and realized I haven't blown a bubble in like 20 years - what a shame):

Ali

Genevieve, our babysitter extraordinaire (the girls adore her and she speaks Spanish with them) - her sister Jessica is now my newest Beehive!

Lizzy

You have to do weird braids at camp, so here's a representation of those, plus the modern version of boondoggle - I made what was supposed to be a necklace but it was too small and ended up being between a bracelet and a necklace. Haven ended up using it for a necklace for her doll, so that worked out. :)

We did a skit, which was random and kind of funny and at the very least a great time:

Here are some other random pictures:

The one in the back is Ann, our camp director. I have so much respect for people who say "yes" to being camp director.

Decor in our star camp.

These lovely sisters were taught by some crazy person (not me but that would be rather funny!) that brushing your teeth with ashes helps whiten them.

Washing your hair in the wild.

An AMAZING crepe breakfast we made. It was my favorite way to do crepes - nutella, cream, strawberries, and blueberries. AMAZING (gotta say it twice).

So, I discovered that my camping mat is actually more comfortable than my current mattress (we're sleeping downstairs in our "summer" beds cuz it's too hot upstairs). That's kind of a problem.

There wasn't a lot to report by way of pranks, although Genevieve got lots of our ward and the stake leaders by putting Orajel on their toothbrushes so their mouths felt numb when they brushed. I thought that was worth recording for future use.

At night we took a little night hike and sang songs out on a hill under the stars. It was really picturesque, quiet, and nice to be with the girls. They are great souls.

It's great to get to be in YW.
